Elmwood consultation update

Following a consultation with staff, SRUC has taken the difficult decision to close the student residency building at its Elmwood Campus in Fife with immediate effect. 

This is due to the low number of students using this accommodation, the financial impact of necessary repairs to the building and the overall deficit caused by this part of the campus.  

This has been a difficult but necessary decision and the campus remains an essential part of SRUC. 

All directly impacted colleagues and new and returning students have been contacted to establish how we can best support them through this change on an individual basis.   

We can also report that we are actively in discussion with interested parties to explore options to sell or let Elmwood Golf Club.   

While we look at ways the golf club could remain operational as a going concern, we have paused our internal process and no final decision will be made until options have been exhausted.
