SRUC kicks off search for new Non-Executive Board Chair

SRUC has begun the search for a new Non-Executive Chair of the Board to take a central role in the future success of the organisation during a period of significant change and opportunity.

It comes as SRUC is set to launch a new strategy for 2026-2031.

SRUC has begun the recruitment process against a backdrop of a string of notable successes, including becoming the first Scottish education provider in almost two decades to gain Taught Degree Awarding Powers (TDAP) and after opening Scotland’s first new vet school in more than 150 years.

“SRUC is at an exciting time in its evolution,” said Professor Wayne Powell, Principal and Chief Executive. “In just over a year we have achieved TDAP, launched our new vet school and Dairy Nexus facility and made strides towards digitally driven agricultural with the launch of farm-twin; achievements which provide the groundwork for enormous growth opportunities.

“This is an exceptional opportunity to take a leading role in propelling the agri-food sector forward I’d encourage anyone with a strong background of leadership in the agriculture, business, innovation or education sectors to apply.”
