Committees and Groups
SRUC’s current equality focused committees and groups help us to deliver on our institutional priorities.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee supports the development of an inclusive working and learning environment. The EDI Committee is Chaired by SRUC’s Vice Principal for Skills, Lifelong Learning and Commercial, reports to SRUC’s Executive Leadership Team and Board.
The EDI Committee determines SRUC’s equality, diversity and inclusion strategic direction and priorities. It also monitors progress to achieve our equality focused ambitions under legislation or external charter marks, oversees SRUC’s compliance with equality, diversity and human rights legislation, and is where emerging issues and sectoral trends are discussed.
Rainbow Staff Network
SRUC’s Rainbow Staff Network is inclusive and open to all staff who identify as LGBTQI+ was launched in October 2020 with following aims:
- To provide mutual support, encouragement and mentoring to LGBTQI+ staff across SRUC;
- To raise the visibility of LGBTQI+ issues within SRUC;
- To work with SRUC senior management to create a diverse and inclusive working environment; and
- To sign-post to other LGBTQI+ organisations and networks.
