Hi I'm
Calum Johnston

I am a Senior Consultant in Agricultural Advisory specialising in farm, croft, and rural business diversification. I joined SAC Consulting in 2018 following two years working as a trainee agronomist and buyer for Branston Ltd. a major potato packer in Fife.

I now deliver a wide range of projects specialising in farm diversification, rural tourism, agritourism, feasibility studies, market research, and succession planning.

I’m also co-project manager of FAS TV through the Farm Advisory Service producing high-quality visual content for farmers, crofters, and rural businesses. I also enjoy public speaking, facilitating both in-person and online events, conferences, workshops, and seminars through various initiatives.

I grew up on a 192ac arable and sheep farm in Fife and have close family connections crofting on North Uist. Friday’s are my ‘farm day’ where I work with my parents on our diversified farm and livery business on the outskirts of Perth.

With over 10 years’ experience as a professional musician working in the wedding and entertainment industry, and formerly a professional sports coach, I bring a wealth of wider industry insights and experiences to support a diverse range of clients.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me at home on the family farm, in the gym at Claymore CrossFit, or playing fiddle for Cragganmore Ceilidh Band
