George Chalmers

I am a consultant based at Turriff in Aberdeenshire, having working in agriculture in a range of roles for over 25 years. This sees me working with a wide range of mainly farmer clients, from the smaller family farm right up to much larger farming businesses. This gives me a great insight into what really matters to local rural businesses, whatever their scale and enterprise mix and also how best I can support them in my role with SAC Consulting. This has seen me help businesses with the completion of their SAFs, NVZ compliance, crop walking and a range of other services when required. More recently I have helped farm businesses get ready for the move to new subsidy regimes and a more emissions-based economy in future by completing carbon audits and also providing bespoke mitigation recommendations. I have also facilitated a number of knowledge transfer projects from monitor farms, smaller discussion groups, workshops and also been involved in small-scale real farm trials. I also regularly contribute to publications and can be heard on farming related podcasts from time to time.
