I have been with SAC Consulting since 2021 having previously been both a primary and secondary school science teacher, with a focus on engaging grassroots with food, farming and nature.
I am currently a Senior Agricultural Consultant, and I am the Area Manager for the SAC Oban area office, overseeing a large geographical area ranging from Lochaber to the Cowal Peninsula, and including the islands of Mull, Islay, Jura, Coll and Tiree, as well as some of the small isles. Our office delivers essential support to our crofting and farming clients in these remote areas.
I deliver a wide range of technical, financial and support scheme related advice to individual farmers, crofters and land managers across Argyll and Lochaber, and also work with primary and secondary schools to deliver rural skills.
I am involved in all aspects of agricultural advice delivered to farms and crofts including business planning and resilience, technical livestock and grassland management advice and recommendations, biodiversity and carbon advice and group facilitation. My specialism is primarily in hill and upland livestock systems.
Outside work, I am passionate about my flock of pedigree Badger Face Texels, which I show both locally and further afield, as well as working on genetically improving my flock and attending pedigree livestock sales.
