Course overview

These workbased qualifications are part-time and require the student to be in sports turf related employment. They have been developed to include the skills and knowledge required by the modern day greenkeeper and necessary to meet the golf course supervisor job profile.

Progression on to the HNC Golf Course Management, both full-time and distance learning, is possible after successful completion of SCQF Level 6 (SVQ Level 3) Sports Turf.

SCQF Level 6 (SVQ Level 3) Sports Turf includes:

Manage your own resources
Plan and set out sports turf areas
Estimate resource requirements and programme work

Course Funding

Full-time students of SVQ Greenkeeping SCQF Level 6 (SVQ Level 3) can apply for a Further Education Bursary.

Once you’ve accepted a place, we’ll email the bursary funding online application. Complete the application and return it along with any required documents. You should apply even if you're still waiting for exam results.

Tuition fees are waived for students who qualify for a bursary.
