Biodiversity conservation, species and habitat identification, visitor management and land use are all included in this dynamic, hands-on course taught by enthusiastic professionals with direct experience in the land based industries.
The course offers flexibility, allowing you to choose modules to suit your particular aspirations, and you’ll put the knowledge you gain to good use though real-life scenarios and case studies. This course attracts students of many different ages, backgrounds, and future aspirations. What they all have in common is an interest in studying this unique mix of biodiversity, conservation ecology and people management topics.
The general aims of the Wildlife and Conservation Management programme are as follows:
- to provide a programme which meets the needs of the conservation sector for graduates with knowledge, understanding and skills in science, social science, technology and development
- to develop a programme which is dynamic and responsive to the changing demands on the conservation sector
- integration of current and future technologies into the theory frameworks of modules as well as the teaching methodologies
- to develop a programme which appeals to the current demographic of ‘specialist students’ but with a view to expand into the more generalist student market and RUK and international based students
Revalidation will focus on the balance of module topics on the basis of the title and within the module content/title reviews content will be based on both national and international theory and practice.
The degree is awarded by the University of Glasgow.
