Ground Maintenance Officer (Groundskeeper)

Active Stirling is a charity founded in 2006 by Stirling Council to provide a variety of sport, physical activity and wellbeing opportunities for the people and communities of Stirling. We are driven by the desire to improve people’s lives through getting more people, more active, more often. We manage all the facilities at The PEAK and Stirling Sports Village and provide a whole host of facilities, events, programmes and activities delivered by our sport, physical activity & inclusion, employability & volunteering and facility teams. The Candidate:

Experience & Qualifications:

• Green Keeping/Ground’s maintenance experience 
• Line measuring and Marking Out
• Experience working in a sports ground preparation environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work on own initiative
• PA1 & PA6 Certificates in Safe use of Pesticides Desirable
• (SVQ) in Sports Turf: Greenkeeping at SCQF level 5
• Certificate in Chainsaw Operations: Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-cutting, Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm
• Awareness of health and safety procedures
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties
• Proven ability of working to a high standard
• Experience of working in the sport and leisure industry
• Proven problem-solving skills in a customer facing environment
• Experience of working with the public and providing a high level of customer service
• Experience in negotiating and purchasing supplies.
