The Job:

Scottish Forestry is seeking enthusiastic, practical, and self-motivated individuals to join our team as Woodland Officers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vital mission—supporting woodland creation, sustainable forest management, and helping tackle climate change and biodiversity loss.

As a Woodland Officer, you will be responsible for a specific geographic area, allowing you to build strong local knowledge and relationships with landowners, managers, and stakeholders. You will provide professional advice and guidance on grants and regulations, helping to deliver the Scottish Government’s forestry priorities.

Your work will be a balance of field visits and time spent working from home or the office. Teamwork is a key part of the role, and you will collaborate with colleagues across your area and the wider agency—for example, supporting investigations into unlicensed felling.
