Opportunity for 'elite' training for OPA scanning - FOC to vets working in Scotland

SRUC vets have been working with other stakeholders as part of the Scottish industry-led OPA Working Group over the last year. One outcome is that Moredun Research Institute have secured Scottish Government funding to enhance Scotland’s capability at flock screening for OPA using transthoracic ultrasound. The aim is to develop a cadre of vets with validated expertise in OPA screening. These vets will be essential to underpin the development of a future National control or assurance-type scheme for OPA. Members of this elite group will also have the potential to teach and support future generations of vets (or lay-people) undertaking ultrasound screening for OPA.

Moredun are therefore inviting enthusiastic vets, based in Scotland, to apply to be part of an advanced training programme which greatly adds to the previous one day course that was provided. It is free of charge and will generate evidence of the skill level achieved by participating vets.
