Enterprise Academy
Our Enterprise Academy was established to champion sustainable thinking and entrepreneurial action across education, business and research at SRUC and in our wider communities.
The Enterprise Academy for the Rural and Natural Economy is a first for Scotland.
We strive to create a culture where sustainable thinking and entrepreneurial action are the norm for every student and staff member.
Our goal is to accelerate the uptake and delivery of sustainable enterprise. We are doing this by developing enterprising mindsets and enhancing the business skills of the next generations. Success to us is the progress of an innovative and thriving natural economy in the fields of education, business and research.
The Enterprise Academy for the Rural and Natural Economy champions sustainable enterprise in three ways: inspiring enterprise, learning through enterprise and growing enterprise.
Inspiring enterprise
We seek to inspire our students, academics and researchers to foster a culture of learning and practice centred on sustainable enterprise.
Entrepreneurs in residence
Our esteemed Entrepreneurs in Residence play a crucial role in supporting our drive to become an enterprising university at the heart of the rural and natural economy.
Enterprising role models
We champion the work of Scotland's most inspiring sustainable entrepreneurs as we seek to encourage our students, educators and researchers in forging their own entrepreneurial paths.
Enterprise across our campuses
We deliver enterprise events and workshops across Scotland to inspire our students and educators into developing a mindset for sustainable enterprise.
Learning through enterprise
Our work develops the entrepreneurial confidence and capabilities of our students, staff and communities by enhancing the knowledge and skills to support and lead the change they wish to see.
SEEDABLE
SEEDABLE is our award-winning four-year strategic curriculum project that embeds vital enterprise competencies across all our teaching programmes.
Enterprising Changemakers
Our institution-wide Enterprising Changemaker programme provides all our students the opportunity to develop their sustainable entrepreneurial thinking and knowledge.
Enterprise Challenge
Our enterprise competition – The Enterprise Challenge - is an entry-level competition open to all SRUC students and provides an opportunity to test, validate and fund new ideas.
Growing enterprise
We focus firmly on supportive action with students, staff and communities as they take practical steps in creating and delivering long-term economic, environmental and social value for our rural and natural economy.
The Sustainability Start-up School
The Sustainability Start-up School is a training programme which allows students to develop ideas and discover what it takes to build a business focused on delivering economic, environmental and social outcomes.
Working with others
We partner with Scotland's enterprise support organisations which allow us to bring further expertise and guidance to our budding entrepreneurs and allows them to establish and enhance their own business networks.
