Varroa learning package

Varroa continues to be one of the main causes of honeybee colony losses in Scotland. This training package for beekeepers below, developed for the benefit of Scottish beekeepers but taking into context wider UK elements, aims to bring together verified learning and teaching materials to find solutions to stop the spread of Varroa in Scotland.

It is a reportable pest and will be automatically reported on BeeBase. If you are certain you don't have varroa, you can untick the box when you sign into your account.

Yellow-Legged Hornet learning package

The Yellow-Legged Hornet (Vespa velutina), previously known as the Asian Hornet, is an invasive species, smaller than our native hornet, that poses a risk to honey bees and pollinating insects. We are working together with beekeepers to stop this insect establishing in the UK.
